What am I wearing on my nails?

At the moment I am wearing Barry M's Vivid Purple Nail Paint! And I love it..

Here is my review for the Barry M Nail Paints - Happy Reading!

WOW! What a fabulous series of products the barry M nail range is - offering a broad range of colours for a range of fantastic looks! If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to more expensive nail paints such as OPI then this accesible range is for you.

I have several Barry M nail paints - in this post you can see an image of the vivid purple nail paint that I used for this review. The nail paints have a very intense colour and I find that two coats is more than enough for a lasting finish. I combine this product with the Barry M 3 in 1 nail paint which is a base coat, nail hardener and top coat in 1 m- one coat before application, one coat after!

I find that the product dries well and doesn't go tacky on application ensuring a smooth and flawless finish. The applicator brush works well and coats the nail generously on application.

"Chipability" wise - I have worn this nail paint for the last 3 days and as of yet - NO CHIPS! A very reliable product indeed!

I recommend this range to anyone who loves having effortlessly great looking nail and I thoroughly intent to purchase many more barry m nail paints in the near future!

Teal Smokey Eye Tutorial

Ok so I thought I would give a tutorial a bash - I did this look on a friend who wanted something to make their brown eyes "pop" - but I think that this look would suit pretty much anyone - I have blue eyes and I like it!

There are every few products used in this look and they are pretty much standard colours that you can find in any drugstore or department store :)

Step 1) Prime the eye! I used clinique touch base for eyes - apply it all over the eye - this will ensure that your eye make up is going to stay in place all day!

Step 2) I used the Rimmel Colour Rush Trio in Twilight Zone. There are 3 colours a brilliant white, a silvery grey and a carbon black colour. Firstly apply the silvery grey all over the lid - stick to the lid - don't go into the crease. I then use the carbon black eyeshadow for the crease, place the brush against the corner of your eye and then brush it back and forth through your crease - most of the colour should be concentrated in the outer corner of your eye. Next use the brilliant white colour to highlight your brow bone and tear duct (the inner corner of your eye). Blend the colours with a fluffy brush so that there are no sharp lines.

Step3) I then used a teal colour (mine was a teal colour from the Ruby and Millie Perfect Eyes Palette). I then concentrate this colour on the outer half of the lid and blend in towards the inner corner - but leaving a gap so that some of the silvery grey can still be seen.

Step 4) Use a gel liner (I used a benefit gel liner) to line your upper lash line. Smudge this line out the outer corners of your eye. You can also do the same to the lover lashline if you wish.

Step 5) Curl your eyelashes with eye lash curlers and apply a generous amount of mascara! I used maybelline's colossal in black!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipsticks

This is a fantastic product from an affordable brand - I own two of these lipsticks in "coral in gold" and "frosted".

I find that their statement brighter lipsticks give a very intense and true colour payoff. Coral in gold - look great on brunettes with a darker skin tone. The lip products have great staying power and will not smudge easily or "bleed out" onto the skin. The product glides on well and is neither too creamy or too sheer - great formula! The lipsticks don't have an overpowering taste or smell - the smell and taste is subtle. Rimmel as a brand is incredibly accessible now with many supermakets stocking the make up line now.

The only fall to this product is I find that the packaging is a bit bland and boring but you do get a decent amount of product in the tube.

I give this product a huge thumbs up and the price is fantastic if you want to start experimenting with some new colours and don't want to pay department store prices!

Maybelline The Colossal Mascara

I purchased this mascara in the glam black shade after I had heard so much hype surrounding it.

This mascara claims to add upto 7 times the volume of your lashes. I don't think that it is a miracle product - It does add volume but not as much as other products I have tried. As for length - if short and stumpy lashes are your problem then I don't think that this product is going to help you very much, I don't think this is the best lengthening mascara out there. What I will say is that I found that this product held a curl well and kept my lashes looking defined all day.

The formula isn't clumpy on application and is very buildable. Personally I find that the product (for a waterproof mascara) smudges and takes a long time to dry in comparison to other mascaras that I own. But the formula doesn't flake and give that dreaded fallout.

The brush is HUGE and very easy to use - this product is relentlessly compared to the covergirl lash blast. So if you are a fan on the lash blast then you will probably love colossal. Also the packaging for this mascara is bright and funky.

What I would say is that if you are wanting a great mascara and you don't mind spending a bit extra - I would skip colossal and go for the benefit bad gal - awesome mascara :)

Benefit Dandelion

Benefit Dandelion is a great everyday blush which suits a multitude of skin tones - but looks especially nice on fairer skin tones. This blush is great to use for a subtle hint of colour or can be built up for a more dramatic effect.

The colour looks beautiful in the box - a beautiful rose pink with a hint of shimmer ( a luminous shimmer, not a glitter shimmer) - which gives a beautiful glow to the face. The colour payoff for this product is good - but I find that the product doesn't last all day - to rectify this you could try to use something like a cream colour base from MAC underneath.

The packaging is beautiful and quirky - like the majority of Benefit products have! The box is a little impractical - it is made of a card and gets damaged overtime.

I am not a huge fan of the brush that comes with the product and wouldn't recommend using it with this blusher - stick to brush you normally use in my opinion! My main issue with the brush is the texture of the bristles - I find them very stiff and scratchy - an impossible combination for good blending!

This is a lovely blush, and if you are a big Benefit fan then I think that this is definitely one for your collection - however this is a pricey product - especially when I don't think the colour is that unique or particularly jaw dropping on application.

L'Oreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara in Brown review

Hey guys, here is my review for the L'oreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara in Brown!

I initially became interested in purchasing this mascara after watching Panacea81's (Lauren Luke) top 5 mascara review - her swatch looked amazing. I had always used black mascara and hadn't thought about changing until her review convinced me to!

This is a fantastic product. I really struggle with mascaras but I find this one works for me -giving me added volume, length and a defined curl. The brush is huge and I find separates lashes well - there has been a lot of discussion on some forums that the brush is difficult to use - I don't personally find this a problem. The mascara has a rose scent too but it isn't too overbearing.

I would recommend this mascara to someone who likes a false lash dramatic mascara -so if that kind of product isn't for you.. I don't think that you will rate this mascara highly. Brown mascaras are often popular in bridal make up too - so if your heading down the isle soon and want to experiment beforehand this might be a good one to put in your basket.

I find that this product doesn't smudge easily and won't end up half way down your face by lunch time! Saying that, it isn't difficult to wash off either - I hate it when you need an expensive make up remover to get off a cheap mascara!

I got mine from boots for around a tenner - and think that it is worth the price. I rate this store over other drugstore mascaras, I even rate it over colossal which is another great drugstore mascara in my opinion.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser

This moisturiser is the third step in the clinique 3 step skin care system. I personally found the first two steps in the system too harsh for my sensitive but found that the moisturiser worked well.

The advatages of this product are that it doesn't leave skin feeling too greasy/oily - instead skin looks healthy and refreshed. I find the formula has a nice consistency (not too thick) and doesn't leave a residue like some moisturisers do. The product doesn't have a fragrance - so for those of you who like a product to just do the job without the added overpowering scent that might be a bonus!

The big disadvantage for this product is that it doesn't contain an SPF which I think is essential for a daily moisturiser. The SPF protects your skin for the sun and reduces the damage that it can cause - hopefully keeping you looking younger for longer. I definitely wouldn't recommend this product to someone who has high sun exposure in their everyday living. Considering the product doesn't have an SPF included I think the product is a little pricey at £17.50 per 100ml. If you are going to spend that kind of money on a daily moisturiser I would recommend getting a daily moisturiser with an SPF15 or SPF30 in the formula which will hopefully be an worthwhile investment in your skin longterm.

Saying that if you aren't bothered about an SPF and want a good moisturiser that isn't going to clog your pores and will keep your skin glowing then I can't fault this product.

Biore Shine Control Moisturiser

What a great product from a great skin care range!

I really do love this product and think it works well on normal to oily/combination skin. It doesn't leave skin looking or feeling greasy which is what you would hope from a shine control moisturiser!

The formula is great..however I do find the consistency a bit too thin for me, sometimes a little watery. I personally prefer a thicker formula - but that me just being picky! On the plus side it doesn't leave a residue on the skin and the fresh fragrance isn't too overpowering.

My only gripe - which I have with a lot of moisturisers is NO SPF!! This is in my opnion the products biggest downfall. I believe that an SPF is essential for a daily moisturiser to have if you want to invest in your skin long term. It provides protection from the sun and should inevitably help to fight the signs of ageing on the face. I wouldn't recommend this product to someone with a high sun exposure in their daily routine.

Although I really do love this product for the results it has given me and based on how affordable it is.. I would suggest thinking about spending more money and investing in a moisturiser with SPF15/SPF30.
